The origins of the polo trace back to late 19th-century aristocratic sports, particularly polo and tennis, practiced by European and Anglo-Saxon elites. At the time, athletes still wore stiff shirts, not suited for movement.
A shift came in the 1920s and 1930s, when sportswear began to influence everyday clothing. The knitted polo stood out for its comfort, breathability and newfound softness: the collar retained a clean shape but lost its rigidity, the button placket became shorter, and the silhouette more fluid and natural.
This version is crafted from 100% linen yarn, lightweight and naturally irregular, enhancing the garment’s authentic character while ensuring comfort.
The design is clean and refined in its details: collar and placket with grey fisheye buttons, buttoned cuffs and side slits. The yarn color, a washed-out blue, defines a worn-in yet sophisticated aesthetic.
