Sperry was introduced during the ’30s from an idea of Paul Sperry who, after falling on the deck of his boat, started studing a non slippery outsole system. The main inspiration came during 1935 from the paws of his Cocker Spaniel Prince, the zig-zag cut on the rubber outsole became a standard for the US Navy and for the sailing lovers. The CVO is arguably one of the most iconic sneaker silhouette ever, inspired by traditional Oxford Shoes, it has been reproduced many times during its almost 90 years of history, still remaining the first of its genre.
