The term “Oxford” refers to the fabric and not to the shirt, this was in fact developed during the 19th century in Scotland as part of a series of four fabrics aimed at celebrating the best universities in the world. The particularity of this fabric lies in the lightness and breathability, possible thanks to the basket structure between thinner threads for the warp and a thicker one for the weft. These characteristics made the Oxford shirts perfect as the official uniforms of the English polo players, who then began to sew them buttons at the base of the neck for practicality, adding to this garment another of its distinctive elements, the button down. Our version of this cotton oxford shirt is in the traditional Off White color with fisheye mother-of-pearl buttons.
- Mandarin collar, sloping front yoke with plastron, the bottom has a special rounding with a fly on the side
- Mother of pearl fisheye buttons
- A light wash makes the garment wavy and particularly comfortable with a vintage look
