A garment inspired by the English and Scottish tradition of Balmacaan coats, some people are more familiar with the coat’s nickname and prefer to call it “bal.” The balmacaan is named after a famous Scottish estate near Inverness in Scotland’s, often inclement weather. It is a protective overcoat, an essential garment designed to be worn over layers that may include sweaters and thick pants. Raglan sleeves and a loose silhouette distinguish this garment; our version is made with a dropped shoulder point, a slightly cocoon fit, and a wind-breaker flap collar. The material is a warm-handed cotton/wool blend with a dogtooth pattern, the lining is in a midnight blue cotton/viscose, while the sleeves have a ton sur ton striped pattern. The logo buttons are 4-holes, the material emulates varnished wood and a stone wash gives it the heritage look.
