The Henley T-shirt traces its origins back to 19th-century England, when it was worn as the official garment of rowing crews. Its construction, defined by a front button placket, made it particularly suited for athletic activity.
The name comes from the town of Henley-on-Thames, host since 1839 of the Royal Regatta, one of the most iconic rowing events in Britain.
Over time, it moved beyond its sporting roots to become a timeless staple of the men’s wardrobe, versatile and enduring.
This long-sleeve version is crafted from lightweight open-end jersey. The fuller, more irregular yarn structure gives the fabric a rustic, textured hand, enhancing the garment’s authentic, vintage character.
