Loose Pleated Chino

Semi-tailored trousers in a pinstriped wool blend. The classic fit and pinstripe fabric take us back to mid-19th-century London, when the city’s bankers wore pinstriped wool suits as their uniforms (the different stripes were presumably linked to the different banks). However, the pinstripe reached its peak in the 1920s and 1940s in the United States, associated with the success of Wall Street businessmen and Hollywood icons, as well as the circles of the Prohibition era’s elite. A symbol of power and assertiveness, in more recent years it has remained associated with canons of elegance and tailoring. Our “vintage” version is a wool fabric with a dry, rustic feel, featuring an irregular, contrasting light stripe. The garment’s appearance is therefore classic, yet maintains a vintage feel. The construction details take origin from the world of tailoring.
