The Texan shirt was born at the end of the 19th century as a work garment, mainly in cowboy ranches, typically made of resistant denim canvas. When it then landed on the big screens of Hollywood it became iconic and its distinctive elements such as the shoulder strap called “western” and the chest pockets with pointed flaps began to be recognizable.
