The inspiration for this jacket comes from French work jackets worn by shepherds, farmers, and artisans between the 19th and 20th centuries. These were durable garments, made for outdoor and rural work, in wool to keep warm and insulated, with a boxy, practical fit suitable for layering, featuring functional pockets, button closure, and a simple design. We selected this warm, rustic wool blend fabric, with a micro-pattern weave, treated to achieve a soft, lofty handfeel. On the garment. The jacket is designed to be worn as a layering piece, with a relaxed and comfortable fit. The collar was designed so the jacket can be fully buttoned up or worn with the top button open to create a small lapel.
