The military overshirt originated during World War II under the designation OG-107, referring to its distinctive olive green color.
From the outset, it stood out for its clean, functional design, with a simplified construction, two large chest pockets and a layout intended for everyday use. Like the Field Jacket, the OG overshirt entered popular culture through pacifist movements that adopted it as a symbol, eventually becoming an iconic piece worn by figures such as John Lennon.
For Vintage55, it represents a timeless and highly versatile staple. For this version, we selected a fabric and color that pay homage to the original models: a slub cotton-linen canvas with a rustic texture, finished with a dyeing process that gives it a worn-in look.
