The first bomber jackets can be traced back to the U.S. Army Aviation, designed for use inside the cockpit: a compact fit, ribbed hems and cuffs to keep the garment close to the body, a collar, and a zipper closure—an innovation that marked a new frontier in clothing. It was the first jacket to feature a zipper as its fastening system. The original flying jackets were made of leather, a material that combined strength, durability, and water resistance. We created a wool version, while keeping the classic fit and clean design: metal zip closure with a double slider, patch pockets with flaps and buttons, and matching ribbed hem and cuffs. The fabric is made of virgin/merino wool, densely milled with a compact hand, double-faced: the front has a micro-pattern weave, and the reverse is a solid blue.
